The U12 Blues cruised to victory with a comprehensive 3-0 win over Manortown at Hyde Road on Saturday. The Blues dominated from start to finish, putting in a strong performance and playing some lovely attacking football. Dalkey were on top from the start, with Bray firing narrowly wide with a couple of early efforts. Dalkey kept up the pressure, with Flynn forcing a save from a Brigg corner. Shortly after, Armah-Kwantreng went close following a nice move involving Ward and Cahill. Further good work by Ward forced the first of a series of corners and Cahill and Bray had good efforts but Dalkey couldn't get the breakthrough, leaving it 0-0 at half time.

Dalkey kept up the pressure at the start of the second half, with Brigg, Speer and Armah-Kwantreng all going close. Eventually, the pressure told. Cahill won the ball with a great challenge in midfield and passed to Bray, who slotted home. Dalkey kept up the pressure and were unlucky not to add a second, with McCarthy going close off a corner. The Blues were not to be denied, however, and Cahill made it 2-0 with a powerful shot. The third goal followed shortly after. A great run and cross from Cahill was finished off by the in-rushing O’Brien, to leave no doubt about the outcome. At the back, keeper O’Reilly dealt comfortably with the Manortown attack and added another clean sheet to his collection
